Today you will learn about my faithful friend Emma. When we first brought Dusty and Emma home , I thought of them as pets , but just cats not dogs. I had always had dogs, but never a cat . My friends had cats , I liked them , they were friendly , but I didn't really know cats. Well what a surprise for me. They were easy to teach to use a little box and come to you when you had a treat. I loved to watch them play together and play with them. Dusty and Emma were brother and sister.
Emma was such a loving kitty . She would come and curl up next to you .You could hear her purr , she was happy just sitting next to you. When you would pet her , she was so happy , she would be drooling. Which was kinda funny, gross and adoring at the same time. Emma was quite the hunter too! She would catch mice , and she even caught a bat out of the air ! She liked to talk to you when she was hungry when she came in from being outside in the summer months. Her and Dusty would sit with us outside in the summer and spring , just like a dog. My friends would often comment how they would see Emma and our dog Frankie sitting together in the driveway , waiting patiently for someone to come home from work. We loved them all , Dusty , Frankie and Emma.
Yesterday I had to take my friend Emma to the vet for a final time. Abut 3 weeks ago we noticed an eye weeping and red. Took her to the vet ,he gave her some drops , but it did not get better. Her eye was removed , we brought her home. A few days later back to the vets. The antibiotics were causing a loss of appetite., but her heart and body temperature were still normal. We were hopeful, so home we went .I fed her cat milk with an eye dropper, she ate a little tuna. The next morning she was much worse, again the milk and I place food in her mouth. But now she was meowing.I knew she was slowly dying. You just know these things ,she was laying kinda hid away by herself, she soiled herself , it was time. When I took her to the vet , I was still hoping .My vet confirmed what I knew, her infection must have spread to her brain. I decided that she was ready to leave us . I stayed with her until she no longer needed me. I love you Emma my faithful friend , be happy .I will miss you.
